Day 23 of the song challenge – A song that you want to play at your wedding

Too late - I am already married, to his eminence Sir Bruin the Large Bear.

(This is clearly aimed at the younger blogger)

Sir Bruin and I have both been married before and therefore wanted a very low-key wedding when we tied the knot in March of 2010. When we sneaked off and got married in the company of only 2 witnesses, there wasn’t any scope for a wedding song. However, I do recall a best of Ian Dury compilation album playing in the car as we drove off in the direction of our 2 day honeymoon in Norfolk, so here is something from that instead.

(Possibly a description of the life we might have lead had we met about 25 years earlier)

When my brother got married, he and his wife chose two songs for their first dance. The first, first dance was “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles and then the second first dance was “I believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. Class!

We had "Perfect Day" and 4 witnesses (6 if you include Mr Murph & Oz).

My request for "Smack my bitch up" was turned down.

Had we had a religious ceremony, I might have suggested "O Lord, the clouds are gathering" or, perhaps, "Through the night of doubt and sorrow".

Only joking, dear Clearly, the ideal song would have been "Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.
As I said at the time, it was the best wedding that I've ever had. It's been bloody good since as well.

Rog – nice tune and I approve of the fact that your dogs were present. We nearly look Errol the Sheep with us but then thought better of it!

Sir Bruin – Awwwwww. Now the entire world can see why I married you.

Your mention of Louis Armstrong makes me think of another, even more appropriate tune of his - “All The Love in The World”
